Cricket - 2009

Into its 3rd successive year of playing cricket, Javed Miyan suggested that we should own a blogspot. And here it is, without much ado. The blog spot is named Flower-Rangers. Hence the team name is Flower Rangers and Rangers for short। If you like the name, say "Jai Ramji Ki".

This year, Rangers will be playing matches against Canon http://canoncricket.blogspot.com/.

This season started on the right foot with team making a strong comeback in the second match this Sunday after losing the first. With 57 as target in 8 overs, Rangers made it in 5.2 overs - for no wickets. Moni hit two plum sixes. Kalyan announced that he is here for the season with a solid innings - and his trade mark cover drives. Mallik hat-trick is the first ever and what an over that was.

First match was lost by 10 wickets after Rangers made 60 in 12 overs. Ram stayed at the crease and chipped in with 14 runs. Mallik proved his loyalty to Flowers by playing with Rangers ;-). Javed almost missed his first international wicket and Bipin almost took his first catch for the season. Siam, Apoorva and Kunal added the zing.

Will be playing this Sunday. Canon team's home ground is at 215 Jerusalem Ave, Hicksville NY.

If Eisenhower Park field 4 is available this year, then we will be switching between these two grounds every week - kind of home and away grounds.
